How can i cash a tax return when my name is not on the check?

My moms tax check is coming in the mail but she is nowhere to be found. I was living in her house helping her with her bills because she lost her main job and needed help. This month I paid up all the bills and all she had to do was give me 300 for rent but she defaulted on it and ran off to another city and disconnected all means of possible contact from myself and anyone else we knew. Now her tax refund is finally coming but we are no longer living at the address that she gave the irs. We rrcieved a 3 day notice for eviction on the 16th and ironically that was th last time I talked to her. She was already giving me half and I plan on giving her the half she wanted but I have no way to contact or find her. I don't want this check to become voided and I really need the money becauseme and my 2 year old are living in a hotel until I can get the funds to find a new home. I have no family and a small amount of friends. My mom just left us high and dry and now most importantly my daughter needs a roof over her head and so do I. Is there anyway for me to cash it? I know my mom isn't coming back...I wouldn't be surprised if I never saw her again.

Legally, you have the right to collect the entire month's rent, since your tenants failure to leave has kept you from getting another tenant in. It doesn't matter if they get out on the second, or stay until the 29th, by not being out on the first, they're responsible to pay. But if you don't want to give them a leg to stand on, don't accept any rent, other than for the actual time they'll be there.

I believe that my daughter's family are behind it: They're trying to forced me out of the state. Her relatives are well-known in their hometown. My record and rights were violated by an associate of the family: This person is a case manger who handles the homeless status(of individuals that are recovering from job lost,eviction,drug abuse). I am waiting for a scheculed date to take--dna's test.(DNA's test will reveal if she's my daughter,or not. I feel as though I have been set up. Want justice for premeditated destruction of a person livelihood. Please take or steer me into the right direction to get justice.

How and why do they do stuff like this to us poor gun owners?

just watched a special on HBO called the Gunfight supposedly a debate pro & con on gun ownership. Ya right, about 20 minutes of testimoney by doctors in emergency room treating predominately black gun shot patients (doubt any of them or their shooters were NRA, SCI, RMEF, DU etc members) & claiming NRA & gun owners were to blame. Then maybe a few minutes of NRA types stateing their views then back to another 20 minutes knocking the NRA by Brady gun control (ban) group & other anti gun people incl a kid that was wounded in Va Tech shooting. Showed them going to gun shows & many AKs ARs Barrets etc for sale & guys offereing to sell without paper etc, showed a wall of full auto type assault weapons lots of scarey stuff to non gun people put them in a panic with misinformation & hyperbole based on partial truths laced with emotions. THey want the so called gun show loop holes closed period, & next the gun shows & then the gun shops of course. Re the straw man purchases where a criminal who couldn`t pass background ck hires clean guy to buy guy for him...you would be a fool to do this...the gun is then registered to you..so if he uses in a holdup, murder, whatever & leaves it behind who are they going after? you..& how will you prove you sold it? Especially now that its illegal for you to do so you lose either way. Dumb dumb thing to even consider & I doubt that many if any real crooks do it. Much easier just to steal them. No prints, no paper, instant posession, no witnesses to testify against you as the straw man etc. duh.
