Eviction 3 years ago.?

I currently live in california and had a past eviction 3 yrs ago. Im currently 6 months pregnant and plan to move to new mexico with family till me , my unborn child and husband find a place to live in. I understand in california they are strict about everything and heard in new mexico they help people that need it. Does any one know if they will look at my eviction and not rent to me in new mexico? Also does anyone know any places in nm where they help people with past evictions and help a homeless family find a home?
