Why don't they import Vepr AKs in the US anymore?

the dems were against them and had them kicked out . the soviets have hundreds of thousands of those guns , they want too sell them soo bad , most of them end up in war zones now . it might have made it hard to keep american gun companies from loosing business . plus some say they were cheaply made and would have made it easy to purchase one for half the price you can find one now being that there would be so many in the market.the nra may have lobbied too.
