Help me choose best SHTF gun from these choices?

Suggest you stay away from the SKS carbines. The current Series 580 + Ruger Mini-14's are excellent tactical carbines; and, I do believe, the only model that offers California-legal genuinely detachable magazines. If you ever move out of that communist state, you'll be able to use full-size, standard capacity magazines (20 rounds).
